TRULY MAGICAL READ

I hardly(if ever read)YA books so I was happy to become acquainted with Ms. McTiernan on Facebook and learn about this book. Blending fairy tales and mythology this book was truly magical. It is a solidly written book although the second half of the book is really when it becomes one of those "you can't put it down" type of books. A sign of a good author is when you come to know and become invested in the characters. Ms. McTiernan does this quite well and you are able to care about (most of) the characters. In particular I liked the candy eating creature called a varab. And the lessons taught in the book are simple/subtle. The cinematic writing style really makes the book come alive. This is a completely fun and engaging read and I can not wait for more of Lily Noble and her friends (and hopefully the varab!)

AMAZING!
I personally loved this book it had everything I love in it. This type of book is exactly what I am looking for and I think anyone who reads it would fall in love with it. I can't wait till the next book comes out it was amazing, I couldn't put this book down. I recommend this book to everyone it is amazing,epic,awesome,and cool.

MAGIC IMMERSION - DIVE IN!
Do yourself a favor - for the price of a movie ticket and popcorn, buy this book! From the first chapter of Lily Noble and Actual Magic, I was hooked! Fabulous lyrical writing (and I’m picky!) and a GREAT story too! I adore the time McTiernan takes with character development, a skill often adrift in other young adult fiction. Also, the way she moves among the different character’s stories is very well balanced, so that we don’t lose touch with any one character for very long. An elegant skill to posses as a writer. I highly recommend it!

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The story was so well written that the characters were virtually life-like. It was easy to vizualize the story and the characters as if you were seeing it in a movie. There were some surprises along the way and when the book ended, I really wanted to get into the next book and continue the adventure with Lilly Noble.

Very well written. I like the way Deborah mixed fairy tale and mythology with her original story, I stayed up until 2 am to finish it.

VERY EXCITING BOOK WITH A UNIQUE TWIST AT THE END
This great author has created a new heroine for us to love and follow through her exciting adventures. You really get to know the characters and can't stop turning the pages as the story unfolds. The author has created a new perspective of our world and because of the unique and creative twist of the plot, you will never view Grimm's Fairy Tales in the same light. I can't wait for the next adventure of Lilly Noble!!

I am a 65 year old grandmother and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The plot took unexpected twists and turns and it really kept my interest. I think teens and teens at heart will love the story! Deborah has an amazing imagination and her writing style is easy to read. I can't wait for the sequel!

EXCITING MAGICAL FANTAST
This was such an exciting read, especially the last few chapters. I almost could not read fast enough to find out what was going to happen next! I also loved the way mythical characters and magic were woven throughout the story-line. I can’t wait to read the second book to find out what happens with all the memorable characters.

YOU AND THE GRANDKIDS WILL ENJOY THIS ONE
Lilly Noble & Actual Magic. The author took quite a while establishing her characters but then swung into action making them come alive. She created a book that opened a door for readers to want to continue to follow the experiences of her characters.. After taking a bit of time to read it through the first time I found I wanted to re-read it with the knowledge and acquaintanceship that I had made with Lilly and her friends. I look forward to reading the next book and to see how she continues to unfold the story line. Have read SF for many years, including many YA books – even if I am 80+. GOOD READ
I really enjoyed this book. I had thought it would be geared more toward a young teenager but as an adult I thought it was very entertaining and kept my interest.

FUN EASY READ WITH INTERESTING CHARACTERS AND PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS
Lilly Noble is the kind of character you get yourself wrapped up in. When I finished reading, I wanted to know what she was up to "after the book". The characters mix well together and all have important roles in the story. Even if magic and paranormal stories really aren't your thing, Lilly Noble & Actual Magic has so much fun action and adventure, you'll still be turning pages with excitement! The last page of the story makes me want to get book two in my hands RIGHT NOW.....so I'll be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series!

MY FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR
A great book for anybody who loves fantasy and magic! I wish that it was a series instead of just one book. The characters seem to come to life as you read, from the very first page you instantly know it will be exciting.

EXCITING, SCARY, and FUN!
When I first started reading Lilly Noble, it seemed a little 'Harry Potter'ish and I wanted it to be unique. And it is! The characters and their stories are fresh and new. Lilly is 'every girl' and it's easy to get wrapped up in her story. In fact, the deeper you get into the book, the faster you find yourself reading. Lilly's world is exciting, scary, and fun. I can't wait for the next book to see where Lilly magically grows.

ADDICTING
I read this so fast that when it was over, I was craving more. I found myself wondering what Lilly was up to! I love the magic and tie ins with fairy totals and folklore. Makes it relateable and you wish you were a mystic or mystery :)

ENTERTAINING READ
Deborah McTiernan's Lilly Noble & Actual Magic is a very well written book. It is highly entertaining and very descriptive....so much so you can easily picture the characters as you read. I would definitely recommend it.
